Junior Service Technician

Ever wonder where your recycling goes after you put it on the curb? You could be a part of our process in making sure recyclables are recovered and turned into renewable material. Van Dyk Recycling Solutions builds material sorting systems to process curbside and commercial recycling. We are a highly regarded player in our industry and have built some of the most technologically advanced recycling systems in America. We are looking for young and eager high school graduates or above who enjoy hands on mechanical or electrical work and are interested in an apprentice-style fully paid position.

The role:
You will begin by receiving equipment training in our warehouse, teaming up with veteran technicians getting hands-on experience rebuilding used equipment. This position will report daily to our headquarters in Norwalk, CT. Once you have acquired the right skills, and if it suits you, you will have the opportunity to join our Field Technician team, traveling to sites across North America and performing service and installation work. Installations can vary in scale from a single piece of equipment to complete new systems. Service calls consist of routine maintenance (think “tune-ups”) as well as troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues.This position is remote and involves heavy travel.

Skills preferred:
• Like to work with your hands and in potentially dirty environments
• Mechanically inclined (benefit if you have experience working on cars)
• Passion for problem solving
• Able to work independently
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Friendly and helpful attitude
• Solid verbal communications skills (Spanish or French a huge plus)
• Must have driver’s license and reliable mode of transportation
• Classroom or practical experience in electrical, mechanical, heavy machinery, welding, or hydraulic preferred
